Ribbon Cutting & Mural Unveiling: Riddle Development
Join us as we celebrate Riddle Development's new mural in partnership with STEAP.
“City of four seasons” is an Inclusive piece of public artwork that highlights special attributes of Henderson county including agriculture, wildlife and diversity. It includes a different style of painting that uses bright colors, bold lettering and visual movement. From the top of the court house to the bushel of apples, each element has a purpose and connection back to Hendersonville that is key for continuous growth and inclusion.
‘Karen-Eve Bayne Chair of STEAP.net, a local nonprofit, shares that there are 5 murals undertaken by their organization. They were funded by a Community Foundation’s 40th anniversary special grants. The theme of inclusivity, diversity, and pride in our city’s symbols is represented in the wonderful mural by Diamond Cash . The image for the mural was selected by a group of community members in August 2022 as part of the grant process and artist’s selection process. We are delighted that Diamond Cash , a local artist, was given the opportunity to produce this lovely piece of public art. STEAP(storytelling, education, and arts programs) Is dedicated to providing opportunities for diverse artists as we “Connect Communities with Our Stories”. We are grateful to The Community Foundation of Henderson County and Andrew Riddle and associates for supporting this new piece of art. We are also launching our Do Tell.org storytelling podcast series that will feature public art, artists, and other stories from our community- Found anywhere podcasts are offered. ‘
