Safelight has been partnering with the SECU Foundation for planning, and we are now under renovation of our Dandelion Cafe located at 127 5th Avenue West in Hendersonville, NC, these past few months, and you are invited to our grand unveiling! The Safelight Dandelion Cafe opened as part of our paid onsite job opportunities for survivors in 2013.
Safelight’s Dandelion Cafe is an integral part of Safelight’s job training program, outreach, community engagement, and agency funding support. It is essential to survivors’ recovery offering a safe paid job training experience with intense case management, financial stability planning, and a sense of belonging in our community. Our Cafe offers a safe place for us to give our survivors a chance to gain skills in catering, service, and food safety with ServeSafe Certification while earning a living wage. The café is also a vital link to our community outreach, providing a space where our programs and services can be accessed in a safe, supportive environment. All profits from the café are used to support Safelight’s programs.
