Pay: $20.00 per hour
Schedule: Part-time (approximately 20–25 hours per week)

Position Summary
Interfaith Assistance Ministry (IAM) is seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Bilingual Intake Interviewer to support our intake services for neighbors seeking assistance. This role conducts intake interviews, determines eligibility for services such as clothing and financial assistance, and helps connect neighbors with appropriate resources and community partners.

Neighbors are first welcomed by IAM’s front desk team and then referred to intake for further assistance. The Intake Interviewer plays a key role in ensuring each neighbor receives a respectful, thorough, and supportive experience throughout the intake process. Fluency in English and Spanish is required. This position reports to the Intake Manager.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct intake interviews in English and Spanish to assess neighbor needs.
• Review documentation and determine eligibility for IAM services, including clothing and financial assistance, in accordance with program policies and guidelines.
• Accurately enter and maintain client information in IAM’s database system.
• Clearly explain program requirements, eligibility criteria, and next steps to neighbors.
• Provide compassionate and culturally responsive assistance to neighbors seeking support.
• Connect neighbors with appropriate IAM services and provide referrals to community partners when needed.
• Maintain organized and accurate records of all interactions and assistance provided.
• Ensure confidentiality of all client information in accordance with IAM policies.
• Communicate effectively with team members regarding neighbor needs and service coordination.
• Assist with intake and front desk operations as needed to support overall program flow.
• Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and organizational activities as required.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support IAM’s programs and services.

Qualifications

• Fluency in English and Spanish (spoken and written) required.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational ability.
• Ability to handle sensitive situations with professionalism, empathy, and discretion.
• Basic computer skills and ability to perform accurate data entry.
• Ability to work respectfully with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
• Commitment to IAM’s mission of serving neighbors with dignity and compassion.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in nonprofit, human services, social services, or customer service roles.
• Experience working with diverse populations.
• Familiarity with community assistance programs and local resources.

Work Environment
This role involves regular interaction with neighbors seeking assistance and requires strong listening skills, empathy, professionalism, and attention to detail. Work is performed primarily in IAM’s intake and service areas and may include occasional support of front desk operations.
