Early Intervention Specialist
POSITION SUMMARY:
This position provides technical assistance to classroom staff, children, and families addressing children’s development, challenging behaviors and/or other mental health needs. It promotes program quality through consultation and training. This position may also provide intensive support and training in a classroom setting as needed.
EDUCATION/TRAINING:
Preferred: Baccalaureate degree in Early Childhood Special Education or related degree. Bilingual English/Spanish skills preferred.
Minimum: Associate’s degree in Early Childhood Education or related degree.
Degree(s) must be from an accredited college recognized by the NC Department of Child Development and Early Education.
EXPERIENCE:
Five years of experience teaching in early childhood classrooms. Experience as a behavioral health therapist with infants, toddlers, and preschoolers and/or experience working in an early childhood setting with children with identified disabilities. Early Head Start/Head Start/NC Pre-K experience preferred.
